One of the several pubs used by the Inklings, this one is a few blocks away from Magdalen up on Holywell Street and affectionately known as the "KA". Here Tolkien describes a meeting there in 1944:

"Discovered the two Lewises and C. Williams, high and very dry on the other side. Eventually we got 4 pints of passable ale at the King's Arms - at a cost of 5/8" ("Letters" 92).
