ghosts
This was discussed in 1944 at Magdalen
"Some illuminating discussion of 'ghosts'" (Tolkien "Letters" 103).
What exactly that discussion was we can't be sure. Many of the Inklings had a great deal
to say on that subject, and I might post some quotes from them here later. Williams in
particular had some odd ideas. But I think I just stated the obvious in that last thought.
